Get into the spirit and run this ANZAC Day

15 April 2023

Mont Property has joined locals in support of this year’s ANZAC River Run – an event that fosters community spirit and pays respect to Australia’s fallen heroes.

The 2023 ANZAC River Run will be held on ANZAC Day – Tuesday, April 25 – as a 4km or 8km walk/run along the river, starting at Tompkins Park, Alfred Cove.

Up to 400 competitors are expected to take part in the 11th annual event, which has been organised by Alfred Cove gym Fitness Results and is generously supported by local businesses.

Part proceeds from the event will be donated to the Fremantle Foundation, which has helped  charitable organisations across Fremantle and the broader WA community since 2010.

Organiser Ryan Cook, who owns Fitness Results Personal Training, said the ANZAC River Run epitomised community spirit, and promoted good health and wellbeing on an important day.

“The ANZAC River Run is about encouraging people to get out and connect with others in their community, while promoting fitness, honouring the ANZACs, and supporting the hard work and dedication of the Fremantle Foundation,” Mr Cook said.

“Each year, the event has gathered momentum and grown in popularity. We now see runners of all ages and abilities participating, having fun, improving their fitness and pushing themselves to be the best they can be.”

Mont Managing Director Matthew Podesta said Mont was delighted to sponsor the ANZAC River Run, which had become a popular event on the local events calendar.

“We live in an incredible neighbourhood and our collective community spirit is always evident at the ANZAC River Run event,” Mr Podesta said.

“We are proud to sponsor this event for the fifth year. It not only celebrates the great place where we all choose to live and work, but pays homage to the ANZACs and the courage and sacrifices they made.”

The 2023 run is sponsored by Mont Property, The Good Grocer Applecross, TLC Dental, Carpet Court Myaree, The Camfield, Armando Sports, GTT Ventures and Bull Motors Bodies.

The Mont Property 8km run/walk starts at 8.30am and The Good Grocer 4km run/walk commences at 8.40am. A River Run t-shirt, race bib and timing chip are included in the registration fee. Breakfast after the race will be supplied by The Good Grocer Applecross.
