Mont Property Wins Award For Doing Real Estate Differently
Mont Property was announced as the winner of the Small Residential Agency of the Year at the 2020 REIWA Awards for Excellence this week – and we’re truly honoured that we’ve been recognised for doing real estate differently.
The award for offices of up to 10 staff recognises the improvements an agency has made upon the previous year – not just financially but in how we’ve connected with our community, supported our staff and embraced technology and marketing changes.
The awards – like so much that has occurred during COVID-19 – were held virtually, but the Mont team watched the live stream with bated breath and enjoyed a celebratory wine when the decision was announced.
“The REIWA awards are the most significant in the state, so we are truly honoured to receive the recognition,” said principal Matthew Podesta. “It has been a win not just for the team but our clients too who entrust us to sell and manage their properties.”
Matthew said Mont had invested heavily in innovation and technology and had an enthusiastic and youthful team – a strategy that paid off when COVID-19 hit.
“We’re a highly adaptable and collaborative team that is highly engaged and because of the technology and systems we use, we didn’t miss a beat during the social restriction period – especially in the property management department,” said Matthew.
It’s the reason why Mont has enjoyed one of its most successful years with some record sales, including an Attadale home which was sold for $7million.
Matthew said that after a quiet March & April due to social restrictions being in place, the property market improved in May and again in June.
“It’s been a tough 10 years in Perth real estate and we’ve found that buyers are now acting because they don’t want to miss out on the stimulus measures of the Federal and State Governments,” he said.
“Sellers are cautious – you never know what is around the corner – it could go either way. But we’ve found that there is a lot of balance in the market at the moment and there’s a dynamic that is benefiting both parties.”
Matthew said the approach of Mont is to be property-centric rather than agent-centric like many others in the industry have become.
“Our goal is to work with our community so that we reflect what the local area is looking for in a real estate agent,” Matthew said.
“We want people to feel that when they use Mont, they’re putting a label on their property that reflects who they are too. We want to be a company that is not only synonymous with quality, but one that people want to deal with.”
Mont Property was established by Matthew Podesta in 2008. We provide a go-to destination for premium property consumers and are based in the riverside suburbs of Perth, covering the broader City of Melville and Fremantle areas.
