Winning Streak: Mont Wins Small Residential Agency Of The Year In 2021 REIWA Awards

29 May 2021

Mont Property has been crowned the winner of the Small Residential Agency of the Year at the 2021 Real Estate Institute of WA’s Awards for Excellence for the second year running.

The prestigious accolade was announced at a gala dinner at Crown Perth on May 21 and recognises Mont’s outstanding efforts in recording significant growth in all areas of its operations in 2020 despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These winners have demonstrated a strong commitment to their team and clients and are on the forefront with putting measures in place to ensure improvement is ongoing,” judges said.

“(Mont) should be commended on their outcomes achieved, derived from adhering to the company’s mission and values and promoting a healthy work atmosphere for their staff.”

The award, which is open to real estate offices of up to 10 staff, acknowledges improvements an individual agency has made in the previous year. Mont pipped nine other finalists in the category to take home the prize.

Mont Managing Director Matthew Podesta said he was incredibly proud to receive the award for the second consecutive year, citing that it reflected the dedication, drive and passion of the entire Mont team.

“This award is clear validation that Mont has a winning combination. Our business, our service and our people collectively create an unparalleled experience that is second-to-none,” said Mr Podesta.

“As a premium real estate agency, we constantly strive to evolve and are driven by our company ethos, mission, values and brand identity. This focus on collaboration and growing as a team saw us achieve incredible results in 2020.

“The last thing we, together with the rest of the industry, thought we’d be dealing with was the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the lockdown in April, Mont did not sell a single property for the entire month. But with incredible vigour, determination, teamwork and genuine care for one another we produced some of our best results ever, including a 46% increase in the number of properties under our management.”

REIWA Chief Executive Officer Neville Pozzi said the Awards for Excellence recognised WA real estate professionals who demonstrated best practice and go above and beyond for their clients, the industry and community at large.

“Unlike other award programs which focus on transactions, statistics and profit, the Awards for Excellence are awarded purely on merit following deliberation by a comprehensive judging process,” Mr Pozzi said.

“In the last 12 months we have seen a dramatic turnaround in the WA property market. The bottom of the market has come and gone, and we are now observing strong market conditions, while simultaneously experiencing a shortage of housing stock.

“Now more than ever West Australians are relying on their local real estate agents for advice, assistance and expert local knowledge. These awards help shine a light on the impressive service REIWA agents are providing the WA community.”

The 2021 Awards for Excellence winners will represent WA in the Real Estate Institute of Australia’s National Awards for Excellence next year.
